vol.2 NAGA
- KAPUKI ARTS vol.2 NAGA
Ukiyo-e, or “pictures of the floating world”, is a genre of Japanese woodblocks and paintings that flourished during the Edo period. Depicting scenes from everyday life, Ukiyo-e paints over the periphery, leaving only the present exposed. Memories of the past and predictions for the future cast aside.
Cruising down the streets of Edo and into present day Tokyo comes skateboard enthusiast NAGA. Combining street culture with the traditional techniques of Edo period art, NAGA offers his skills as a graphic designer and illustrator, preserving both the techniques and spirit of Ukiyo-e.
