Honda-ya Genbei “Momoyama printing leaf”
"Momoyama printing foil"
An obi that reproduces the texture of Momoyama period folding screens by rubbing off the silver.
A woven fabric made from genuine silver leaf that has changed over time, oxidizing and burning with age.
Old leaf: Originally produced at the request of the government for the restoration of cultural properties, each piece has a unique expression. The Najio Washi paper, which is considered to be the best used for leaf, is destined to disappear as the Japanese paper production area declines. It is the crystallization of the technique of the golden age that escaped the war and was sleeping in the storehouse for a long time.
