Hondaya Genbei "Nine-inch obi Homarezaori moonlit night"
"Nine-inch obi Homarezaori moonlit night"
An impressive obi with a drum moon and sauce waves.
Five bats are woven.
The five bats are called “five good fortunes” and are symbols of “longevity, wealth, nobility, well-being, and many descendants.”
Finding the five hidden bats of good fortune is also one of the pleasures of this belt.
Homareza Ori: Uses a hand-pulled thread called seat-reeling instead of machine-reeling.
It swells as if it is filled with air.
The cocoons are domestically produced Akebono, and the silk is reeled in Nomura Town, Ehime Prefecture.
