The "Eel Obi" was created at the request of the store owner, Reiko.
The design was done by Pencil Nishioka.
And it was Seiken Kobo that breathed life into the design.
Carefully hand-dyed, it captures the texture and warmth of the eel.
The Enso diagram represents Zen enlightenment. It is also a mirror that reflects the hearts of those who see it. Whether it knows the hearts of people or not, the eel acts out the circle drawn with a single stroke.
It would be fun to tie this obi and go to an eel restaurant.
Why not try adding a little adult playfulness to your outfit?
