A damaged and tattered fan emerges from the pitch black darkness.
The broken fan, which continues to defend and fight despite the odds and never loses its vitality, represents an indomitable spirit.
No matter how the world or the times change, we hope that beautiful things will appeal to people's eyes and hearts and remain for a long time to come.
This fabric is made of lacquered Saga Nishiki fabric with pure silver, platinum thread, and Koishimaru silk embossed on it.
Koishimaru: A variety of silkworm.
This variety is used by the Empress at the Imperial Silkworm Farm, and produces very fine, high-quality silk.
At one point during the Showa period, there was consideration of stopping the breeding, but Empress Michiko, who was the Crown Princess at the time, insisted on keeping them, so they continued to be kept.
