Hemp cloth is not well known even among Japanese people.
In fact, during the Jomon period, cannabis grew in large numbers across the Japanese archipelago and was widely used as a household item and food.
Cannabis is also a "sacred plant" and is called "Oonusa" in Shinto rituals, offered to the gods, and is still used today to make hemp string and rope associated with shrines.
After about three years of research and trial and error, it was revived with a rich texture reminiscent of hemp cloth from hundreds of years ago.

This product has been treated with a guard (water-repellent) coating.
If your kimono has dirt or stains and needs to be cleaned, please consult our store or a reliable cleaning shop that handles kimonos.
When ironing, place a cloth over the areas with wrinkles and iron at medium temperature.
