Edo Komon dyeing that has continued since the Muromachi period. "Kakutoshi" is one of the high-class patterns of Komon Sanyaku, along with "shark" and "behavior", which is a pattern in which fine squares are continuous vertically and horizontally. Edo komon is dyed with a conical stencil carved out with a chisel with a square tip. It is said that it has the meaning of passing through both vertically and horizontally.
