Edo Komon dyeing has continued since the Muromachi period. ``Kakudoshi'' is a pattern in which fine squares are continuous vertically and horizontally, and is one of the high-class patterns of the three komons, along with ``same'' and ``gyougi.'' This is an Edo-komon pattern that is dyed using a cone-shaped paper pattern carved with a chisel with a square tip. It is also said to have the meaning of passing through both vertically and horizontally.
